What is Sage Enterprise Management (formerly SageX3)?

Why was Sage X3 renamed Sage Enterprise Management?
Sage’s ultimate platform for total business management has had a number of iterations over the years. Sage originally acquired a firm called Adonix in 2005. The Adonix ERP product— known as Adonix X3—then became Sage ERP X3, which was eventually shortened to Sage X3.
As cloud-based technologies became a clear driver of competitive advantage, Sage’s product philosophy and development approaches shifted too.
The company launched the Sage Business Cloud in 2017—an online marketplace that makes it easy for Sage customers to pick and choose from a broad selection of Sage software and complementary applications developed by independent software vendors (ISVs).
Sage’s suite of cloud products were also renamed and Sage X3 became Sage Enterprise Management.
